FASTEAM partners reunite in Ljubljana

What if a story doesn’t end with “happily ever after”, but with a question that needs to be solved?

That was one of the ideas at the heart of our FASTEAM partner meeting in Ljubljana on 28 and 29 September 2026. Partners came together to look at the progress made so far and, more importantly, to start shaping the next part of FASTEAM: STEAM Storytime with Experiments.

The concept brings together two things that children and parents can enjoy together: stories and discovery. A story introduces a problem or challenge, which leads to a STEAM question. Children and their families then experiment, investigate or create together before returning to the story.

In Ljubljana, partners started with the stories themselves, looking at where Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics could naturally become part of the plot.

Over the coming months, these ideas will be developed further and prepared for testing in schools and partner activities.

And, of course, not all good ideas happen around a meeting table. There was also time to explore Ljubljana, share experiences and continue conversations more informally with our Slovenian hosts.

We left Ljubljana with the beginnings of new stories — and plenty of experiments still to come.
